Lisa's Solo Career.

Lisa didn't rest on her laurels after the STEPS split, and signed a record deal with Mercury Records on her birthday, the 5th of November 2002. Lisa's debut single as a solo postrel was disco belter 'Lately' which was released on 12/5/2003 and showed Lisa really could strut her stuff alone. The public was inspired, and Lisa entered the charts at #6.

Lisa released her next single, 'Too Far Gone' on 8/9/2003 and was a huge hit with the fans, despite narrowly missing the top 10 by going in at # 11. Then strangely, as H&Claire had before her, Lisa Scott-Lee disappeared.

Finally news emerged, and fans discovered Lisa had 'parted ways' with record label Mercury due to disappointing sales. Fans were distraught, since Lisa had recorded an album during her time at Mercury - the infamous 'Unleashed' - and they were concerned they would never get to hear Lisa's album of sheer pop genious. That still satnds to this day as many of the tracks intended for the album have never surfaced (only 30 second clips have ever leaked)

Lisa and the Ministry Of Sound

Lisa teamed up with dance act 'Intenso Project' for a collaboration. Signed to the Ministry Of Sound label, the group released dance record 'Get It On' released on 28/11/2004 and although topping the club charts, only reached a disappointing #23 in the UK Singles Chart.

Totally Scott-Lee

Lisa signed a deal in 2004 to make a documentary with MTV, following the release of her next single. MTV gave Lisa just five weeks to find a song, record it, and release it.
On the 10th October 2005, Lisa released 'Electric', a song penned by Guy Chambers and Ben Adams, belting out a more mature sound, coupled with knowing lyrics and a fantastic club beat.
The show was a huge success; it became MTV UK's most watched programme, and 'Electric' charted at #13 - a huge improvement on her previous position.

Never Or Now?

Backed by her record company in 2007, Concept finaly put out Lisa's first solo album - 'Never Or Now' - which she released for her fans in the UK for download on Amazon and iTunes. South Africa and China where the only countries to get a physical release of this pop-tastic album. The Chinesse version came in a stunning DVD case with a beautiful Lyric sheet.

The 'Never Or Now' album.

Never or Now

It was released in South Africa on 4 June 2007 and on 14 June as a digital download in the United Kingdom.
The album was in production from 2003, when Scott-Lee released her first two solo singles, "Lately" and "Too Far Gone". The album was originally titled Unleashed, and promotional samplers were sent out that year. The songs leaked shortly afterwards. Other tracks from the album appeared during the next four years, including the single "Electric". Some songs appeared as B-sides, had been heard on Scott-Lee's reality show Totally Scott-Lee, or had been put up for download by her. When the album was released, four of the thirteen tracks were new. One other song, "I'll Wait for You", was a new recording.
The album was to feature another new track, "High", which was removed shortly before release and replaced with "Boy on the Dancefloor". Pictures of the back cover with "High" listed were published on the internet. On the South African edition, "You're No Good for Me" is missing from the track listing on the back cover in error; this was corrected on the later released edition in Belgium.
Below is a qoute from Lisa herself.

Hi Guys,

Hope you're all well! Sorry it's been a while, I've been recovering from TSL - ha! Seriously, I've been busy in the studio finishing my album so I thought I'd send you a pic of me in the studio, finishing my album!

I'm calling it 'Never or Now' after one of my fave songs on it - also, after writing & working on it for 3 years, I'm ready to release it to the world, so it really is now or never!

The album is like a journey, I start off as a 'Dance Diva' with the sexy little dance track 'Lately'! This is followed by a portion of pop/dance before turning 'Rock Chick' with some wicked pop/rock tracks like the title track.

I'm very proud of it & I hope you all love it!! Keep leaving messages for me coz I do read them you know!

Have fun & take care. Lot's of love, Lisa xxx

Lisa to hit the airways

Lisa Scott-Lee of pop group Steps fame joins Tom and Dan on 8th January to become a part of the hugely successful evening drive time programme, Tom & Dan.
The show is broadcast Sunday–Thursday from 4pm-8pm across the UAE. Says Lisa of the move: “I’m so excited to be joining Tom and Dan on Dubai 92 as I’m a big fan of the station and it will be great fun working with the boys!”
Tom Bushell and Dan Marsh, who have been hosting the drive time show since September 2010, are both thrilled to have Lisa joining their show. They said “We’ve been working together as a duo for over two years, and took over the drive time show last September. This is another great move for the show and for the station. We can’t wait to get Lisa on-air. She’s fantastic fun and will add a great edge to the show.”
Dubai 92, home of The Catboy & Geordiebird Breakfast Show, will complement its morning drive time with the dynamic evening programme, to be named Tom, Dan & Lisa.
Steps, who go on tour in April, have sold 20 million albums and over 2 million concert tickets. Their upcoming Ultimate Tour kicks off in Northern Ireland on 2nd April.
We feel a bit giddy at the prospect of having a pop star in our midst. 8th January couldn’t come round soon enough!
